Diesel crosses realms in The Last Witch Hunter teaser
Vin Diesel has churned out his fair share of blockbuster success as well as box office bombs, and the teaser trailer for The Last Witch Hunter makes his latest look like a cross between the two. The movie has him, in his various clean-shaven and bearded forms, and a few strong supporting players to prop it up, but the premise seems to be a bit of a sci-fi stretch that’s usually hit or miss with the casual moviegoing audience. That said, it’s good to see Diesel back in the badass seat and in front of the camera for some fantasy action. The Last Witch Hunter feels like a blend of the Night Watch/Day Watch saga with an Underworld undertone, which could be fun.
Another trailer I’m catching up on, watch the first teaser for The Last Witch Hunter after the jump.
Not much to digest, but at the same time there’s plenty to speculate on. The movie could be another flop like Diesel’s Babylon A.D., or it could be another entertaining entry into the sci-fi/fantasy/modern world mix genre that can strike a cord lots of viewers enjoy. I’m not sold yet, and a full-length trailer is sure to surface sometime soon, so we’ll see what else evolves out of this one before its fall release.
Here’s a lengthy plot synopsis for The Last Witch Hunter to fill us in on the details:

Armies of witch hunters battled the unnatural enemy across the globe for centuries, including KAULDER, a valiant warrior who managed to slay the all-powerful QUEEN WITCH, decimating her followers in the process. In the moments right before her death, the QUEEN curses KAULDER with her own immortality, forever separating him from his beloved wife and daughter in the afterlife. Today KAULDER is the only one of his kind remaining, and has spent centuries hunting down rogue witches, all the while yearning for his long-lost loved ones. However, unbeknownst to KAULDER, the QUEEN WITCH is resurrected and seeks revenge on her killer causing an epic battle that will determine the survival of the human race.
