Transformers: Age of Extinction trailer teases Dinobots
With the Shia Labeouf Transformers era behind us, and Michael Bay still as apt to explode things and cater to teenage boys as ever, another transformers film was bound to happen. Transformers: Age of Extinction just got its first full-length trailer, and in it we see Mark Wahlberg and his kids living in a post-Dark of the Moon America. He salvages scrap metal, his attractive daughter makes him feel bad for salvaging scrap metal, and, oh yeah, did I mention there are Dinobots? There are Dinobots.

Not too shabby. Word is, this new Transformers is not a kid’s movie, and that the tone is a lot darker and more mature than the previous installments, which could be a mixed bag. These films have always banked pretty heavily on the younger demographic (with toy and video game tie-ins), but it’d be pretty great to see a dark and mature Transformers adventure.
Unfortunately, no official synopsis has been revealed yet, but the trailer makes it clear there’s a new mechanical threat to the planet, Optimus Prime is back, and a few fresh-but-recognizable faces have joined the mix.
In case you missed it, here’s a look at the teaser spot that ran during the Super Bowl:
Tranformers: Dark of the Moon is scheduled for a June 27, 2014 release, and the movie stars Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tuuci, Jack Reynor, Kelsey Grammar, Nicola Peltz, Li Bingbing, Sophia Myles, and T.J. Miller
