The Hunstman: Winter’s War trailers are wickedly entertaining
In non-superhero news, a brand new trailer for The Hunstman: Winter’s War just surfaced, and the movie looks like it could be a lot of fun. I’ve been meaning to draft up a post about this one since the first trailer popped up in November, and today’s new trailer reveal seemed like a sign. Plus, the new trailer is all kinds of unexpected awesome. At first, it looks like a live-action Frozen, but then a few more layers are thrown in to round out the sequel/prequel premise of warring sisters and Hemsworth’s hunstman.

And here’s the first trailer that first previewed the movie way back in November:
Personally, I didn’t think the original re-imagining that was Snow White and the Hunstman deserved the critical thrashing it got. While the sequel is a bit unnecessary, it could be interesting to explore Chris Hemsworth’s character before his time with Snow White, and I really enjoyed Charlize Theron’s evil queen. Looks like we’ll be getting a sister team-up vs. hunstmen and women fighting for freedom bit of fantasy fun.
For those curious about this sequel/prequel, here’s an official plot synopsis for The Hunstman: Winter’s War:
Long before the evil Queen Ravenna (Theron) was thought vanquished by Snow White’s blade, she watched silently as her sister, Freya (Blunt), suffered a heartbreaking betrayal and fled their kingdom. With Freya’s ability to freeze any enemy, the young ice queen has spent decades in a remote wintry palace raising a legion of deadly huntsmen — including Eric (Hemsworth) and warrior Sara (Chastain) — only to find that her prized two defied her one demand: Forever harden your hearts to love.
When Freya learns of her sister’s demise, she summons her remaining soldiers to bring the Magic Mirror home to the only sorceress left who can harness its power. But once she discovers Ravenna can be resurrected from its golden depths, the wicked sisters threaten this enchanted land with twice the darkest force it’s ever seen. Now, their amassing army shall prove undefeatable… unless the banished huntsmen who broke their queen’s cardinal rule can fight their way back to one another.
The Hunstman: Winter’s War stars Chris Hemsworth, Emily Blunt, Charlize Theron, Jessica Chastain, Sam Claflin, Sophie Cookson, Nick Frost, Colin Morgan, and Rob Brydon. Winter’s War hits theaters on April 22, 2016.
