The Star Wars Bad Lip Reading videos are the laugh you need
It’s been a while since I’ve seen a Bad Lip Reading video, which is unacceptable. The folks over there continuously create hilarious nonsensical videos from some of our favorite films, and this time around they’ve given us three new gems for the Star Wars original trilogy. The songs alone are worth the watch, but some of the one-liners and the use of Jack Black as Darth Vader are gold.
Watch three new Bad Lip Reading videos for Star Wars after the jump.
As is their style, the videos jump around and literally babble nonsense at times, but snippets make for some pretty funny mini sketches. The song old Obi-Wan Kenobi breaks into at the end of this video for A New Hope is catchy, and it looks like a full-length version is on the way. Check it out:
Maybe it’s just me being out of the Bad Lip Reading loop for so long, but I don’t remember their being so many songs thrown into the mix. The one above caught my off guard, but going straight into the video for The Empire Strikes Back I was on board with the ditty or two various characters weave together with jibberish. Plus, Yoda is super creepy for a second (around 2:20), and it’s kind of awesome. Also, “FLOOOWER! No!” Here’s the second new Star Wars Bad Lip Reading catch of the day:
They’re cute, they’re rude, they can rap a little bit – oh those droids of mine. Having Jabba bust out a bit of Barry White-inspired weirdness on Liea? It fits better than it should. And Admiral Ackbar’s introduction was the first time I lost it during these three videos. I’m still laughing just thinking about it, and I can’t help but be reminded of some good ol’ Robot Chicken and the way that show was able to do so much with a few seconds sometimes. You’re going to love this Bad Lip Reading video for Return of the Jedi:
“Hey, 3PO, now that my friends know you’re crazy, you can be a pirate and do a dumb accent.”
