New passport & poster images for Snowpiercer
Update: Now includes new international character posters
Some new images in the form of passenger passports have surfaced for the upcoming Snowpiercer. The film is Joon-ho Bong’s (The Host, Mother) English-language debut, and from the small snippets we’ve gotten so far Snowpiercer looks to be a grimy class inequality piece.
Put your stamp of approval on the new character passports after the jump.
Snowpiercer is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A class system evolves on the train but a revolution brews.
Let’s hope this film gets good and gritty in terms of looking at the highs and lows humanity goes through when confined to a small space. If we get a strong character drama mixed with some sci-fi elements and a little violence along the lines of Blindness or The Divide we could be in for a treat.
While we get some English snippets in these new character passports we miss out on the one-line descriptions that are only in Korean. Angie Han over at /film has been kind enough to do a rough translation. Thanks Angie!
