First Mission: Impossible – Fallout trailer races, punches, and shoots its way online
I swear I saw the first trailer for Mission: Impossible – Fallout somewhere online either yesterday or the day before, but the Paramount Pictures YouTube page is saying the trailer was only released eight hours ago. So, who knows. Regardless, the debut trailer for the latest Mission: Impossible outing is worth the watch, and it showcases why we as viewers keep coming back to a franchise that’s still going strong more than twenty years after the first film (remake) hit theaters. Crazy car/motorcycle chases, espionage antics, close-quarters brawls, and outrageous stunts performed by Tom Cruise. Yep, everything’s here. The sixth film in the Cruise-starring franchise, and the second written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, looks like it’ll be a wild ride.
Watch the trailer for Mission: Impossible – Fallout below:
Doesn’t Henry Cavill’s August Walker carry himself like such a badass? From squaring up for a fist fight to wearing that mustache well, what a great glimpse at his character. Sure, he saved that awesome mustache from the razor and got flack for the shoddy CGI cover-up in Justice League, but hopefully he gets more attention for keeping it for Mission: Impossible than he did for not shaving it off for Justice League reshoots.
It’s also worth noticing the absence of Jeremy Renner’s Agent Brandt. I was curious why I didn’t spot him in the poster (below), but after a quick IMDb scan, it looks like he’s not in this one. That’s Avengers and Mission: Impossible he’s been excluded from. Was there just no room for his character in either movie, or was Renner too busy filming Tag to find time for two of the biggest action movie franchises hitting the big screen this year? I’m not the only one who missed him in Avengers. BossLogic even went as far as to put together this Hawkeye Infinity War poster. Can anyone tell me what Renner’s been up to lately?
Anyway, here’s a pretty ambiguous plot synopsis for Mission: Impossible – Fallout. I shaved off ten cast (and director) names, so it’s even slimmer than it was:
The best intentions often come back to haunt you. MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT finds Ethan Hunt and his IMF team along with some familiar allies in a race against time after a mission gone wrong.
Mission: Impossible – Fallout stars Tom Cruise, Henry Cavill, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Michelle Monaghan, Alec Baldwin, Ving Rhames, Angela Bassett, Sean Harris, and Vanessa Kirby. The movie hits theaters on July 27, 2018.
