Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways to Die in the West gets a trailer
Family Guy and American Dad creator Seth MacFarlane successfully transitioned to feature-length film director with Ted, and now he’s continuing the new trade by tackling the Old West with A Million Ways to Die in the West. The first trailer rolls in under the red band, and if it’s a true indication of the final product we can expect plenty of raunchiness, violence, and MacFalrane’s special brand of comedy.
A handful of character posters were released the other day, and you can watch the brand new red band trailer for A Million Ways to Die in the West after the jump.
We don’t get a lot of action comedies set in the west, and it looks like MacFarlance might be trying to pick up the torch Mel Brooks lit with Blazing Saddles way back in 1974. If anything, watching high-caliber actors getting a little silly is always worth a few laughs.
Here’s an official synopsis for A Million Ways to Die in the West:
After a cowardly sheep farmer backs out of a gunfight, his fickle girlfriend leaves him for another man. When a mysterious and beautiful woman rides into town, she helps him find his courage and they begin to fall in love. But when her husband, a notorious outlaw, arrives seeking revenge, the farmer must put his newfound courage to the test.
The film stars Seth MacFarlane, Liam Neeson, Charlize Theron, Giovanni Ribisi, Amanda Seyfried, Neil Patrick Harris, and Sarah Silverman. It’s set to hit theaters May 30th, 2014.
