First full-length trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road looks spectacular
It’s been difficult to gauge or get too excited about Mad Max: Fury Road based off of the scarce bits and pieces we’ve seen so far, but that all changes now that the first full-length trailer for the film has surfaced. It looks amazing. That’s always tough to say in an unbiased way, but the trailer sets an excellent tone while giving us a glimpse of the dirt-covered world Max (revived by Tom Hardy) and the other surviving humans are inhabiting. What a great way to preview the movie!

Did that get your engines revving? It’s been a while since a trailer, cast, and scenario has gotten me so exciting, but this movie just jumped onto my radar in a big way. Given the recent character posters that popped up, a trailer was sure to shortly follow, and it did not disappoint.
Here’s a lengthy official plot synopsis for Mad Max: Fury Road:
Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
“Mad Max: Fury Road”—the fourth in the franchise’s history—stars Tom Hardy (“The Dark Knight Rises”) in the title role, alongside Oscar winner Charlize Theron (“Monster,” “Prometheus”) as the Imperator, Furiosa. The film also stars Nicholas Hoult (“X-Men: Days of Future Past”) as Nux; Hugh Keays-Byrne (“Mad Max”, “Sleeping Beauty”) as Immortan Joe; and Nathan Jones (“Conan the Barbarian”) as Rictus Erectus. Collectively known as The Wives, Zoë Kravitz (“Divergent”) plays Toast, Riley Keough (“Magic Mike”) is Capable, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (“Transformers: Dark of the Moon”) is Splendid. They are joined by supermodel Abbey Lee as The Dag and Courtney Eaton as Fragile, both of whom are making their big screen debuts. Also featured in the movie are Josh Helman as Slit, Jennifer Hagan as Miss Giddy, and singer/songwriter/performer iOTA as Coma-Doof Warrior. The cast is rounded out by well-known Australian actors John Howard and Richard Carter, supermodel Megan Gale, Angus Sampson, Joy Smithers, Gillian Jones, Melissa Jaffer and Melita Jurisic.
Usually I wrap up trailer posts with a rundown of the cast, but that last paragraph of the synopsis did so pretty nicely. Mad Mad: Fury Road hits theaters May 15, 2015.
