Reeves wants revenge for his dead dog in John Wick trailer
Let’s be honest, Keanu Reeves is strangely solid in most of his films (deny it all you like). That said, he’s been in need of a high-profile, worthwhile movie to remind us he can still be a badass, and it looks like his upcoming turn in John Wick is just that. I didn’t know a thing about this one until the trailer surfaced a few days ago, and now it’s jumped onto the must-watch radar in an odd way. As much as I hate the overuse of the comparison, think Keanu Reeves in an intense-looking, Taken-type revenge flick following the loss of an adorable little puppy, and you’ll be pretty close to the tone the trailer sets.

“People keep asking if I’m back,” says a distraught Reeves. “Yeah, I’m thikin’ I’m back.” Let’s hope that’s a mantra this movie aims to interlay over Reeves’ career moving forward. He’s been a little all over the place since his Speed days, and I might be alone in my enjoyment of Street Kings, but this looks like a lot of fun in a silly action sort of way. Granted, the plot is a pretty straightforward retired-hitman-gets-back-in-the-game routine, but something’s working.
