Kutcher looks and plays the part of the late Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs was easily one of the world’s most influentially outspoken innovators of the modern age, and a trailer for the film chronicling the man’s rise to the top has surfaced. Watch as once-prankster Ashton Kutcher wears a convincing suit of wit, charm, and forward drive in the new trailer for jOBS after the jump.
The film looks surprisingly good, and Kutcher sells his involvement (which garnered early skepticism) and makes us think he might just pull off playing such an inspiring real-life figure. Here’s hoping the rest of the film lives up to the trailer. That said, trailers have a tendency to build the best parts of a film into goosebump-inducing 2 minute sizzle reels, and they all-too-often give away most of the plot. Looks like this trailer’s hitting every note one after the other.
Here’s an official synopsis for the jOBS:
The film chronicles Steve Jobs’ (Kutcher) transformation of character from the enthusiasm and self-discovery of his youth, to the personal demons that clouded his vision, and finally to the ultimate triumphs of his later life. Steve changed the way we see the world today through his relentless drive, passion, persistence, and the force of his will, and it is through these qualities that we draw inspiration from his life.
Dark, honest, and uncompromising, “JOBS” plunges into the depths of Steve Jobs’ character, uncovering his motivations, his gifts, his flaws, his failures, and his successes. An immensely private tale spanning four decades, “JOBS” is an intensely character-driven story that is as much a sweeping epic as it is a personal tale.
