Rogan and Franco attempt to assassinate Kim Jong-Un in The Interview

I suppose it’s not fair to say Franco and Rogan are reuniting, as it seems the dynamically outspoken duo are inseparable, so let’s just say The Interview is them along with their pal Evan Goldberg playing with cameras and lights while making jokes again. The trailer for their new film looks irreverent and pretty ridiculous, but we should expect nothing less from a comedy aimed at assassinating Kim Jong-Un.

Watch the first teaser trailer for The Interview after the jump.

There’s a good chance that if you put James Franco and Seth Rogan in any movie, framed by any premise, you’d get the same sort of manlove yelling and slow motion schlepping, and that can be a mixed bag. The Interview is sure to have some hilarious moments, depending on where your sense of humor sits, and here’s hoping we’ll get a great cameo buried somewhere in there. Goldberg and Rogan were behind the successfully popular Neighbors and This is the End, so if you enjoyed those movies you’ll probably get a kick out of this one.

Here’s a plot synopsis for The Interview:

In the action-comedy The Interview, Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) run the popular celebrity tabloid TV show “Skylark Tonight.” When they discover that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is a fan of the show, they land an interview with him in an attempt to legitimize themselves as journalists. As Dave and Aaron prepare to travel to Pyongyang, their plans change when the CIA recruits them, perhaps the two least-qualified men imaginable, to assassinate Kim Jong-un.

The Interview stars Seth Rogan, James Franco, Lizzy Caplan, and Randall Park. The film is scheduled to hit theaters October 10, 2014.
