Last I heard they couldn’t get the copyrights for Jimi’s music to make the movie. So awesome that they are finally making this film

This is the first I’ve heard in a while. All I know is that it’s going to be showing at TIFF this year. No word of a release date yet, but I’ll keep an eye on it for sure!
