Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 promises more food-centric fun
The surprise hit (or maybe not for fans of the original book) Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs was a whole lot of tasty film fodder as both an animated feature and as a movie in general. With more hits than misses, and boasting a colorful cast of nicely developed characters, the original movie made its mark and warranted a sequel.
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 comes out later this year, and you can sink your teeth into a new trailer for the film. Check it out after the jump!
Food finds a way, as a grilled cheese Ian Malcolm might say, and the movie looks like an enjoyable romp back to the island where it all began. Seeing how the film plays with food puns in clever ways, on top of the imaginative forms our favorite tasty treats have evolved into, might be worth the price of a ticket.

In the wake of the disastrous food storm at the end of the first movie, Flint Lockwood and friends are forced to leave their town of Swallow Falls. But when it is discovered that sentient food beasts have overrun the island, they are asked to return to save the world…again.
The film hits theaters September 27th and stars Bill Hader, Anna Farris, James Caan, Andy Samberg, Terry Crews, Will Forte, Neil Patrick Harris, Kristen Schaal, and Benjamin Bratt.
