Brad Pitt fights assassins in first trailer for Bullet Train
What if the John Wick, Smokin’ Aces, and Snowpiercer movies had a baby? You’d likely get Bullet Train, the new movie starring Brad Pitt and a number of other very familiar faces. The first trailer for Bullet Train recently dropped, and it looks like a hearty mix of everything we love to love about silly-but-enjoyable action movies.
Check out the first trailer for Bullet Train below:
Whacky but in a fun way, right? Brad Pitt in his silver fox years seems to be taking a cue from buddy George Clooney in choosing his projects. Meaning, the movies he’s been in recently are a blend of roles he can really bite into and show off his acting chops and also those where he can be a bit zany and really enjoy himself. I’ll never not enjoy Clooney’s wild eyes in something like Burn After Reading (which also stars Pitt).
Bullet Train looks to be firmly seated in the latter category, and Pitt seems to be having a good time as a secret agent-y type with the codename “Ladybug.”
Bullet Train is directed by David Leitch (of Deadpool 2, Atomic Blonde, John Wick fame), so the action and outrageousness will likely be dialed up to an 11 for this one. Plus, it’s adapted from a solid novel of the same name by Kotaro Isaka, so here’s hoping the movie will be a riot in all the right ways.
Here’s the official plot synopsis for Bullet Train:
An original movie event, Bullet Train is a fun, delirious action-thriller from the director of Deadpool 2, David Leitch. Brad Pitt headlines an ensemble cast of eclectic, diverse assassins – all with connected yet conflicting objectives – set against the backdrop of a non-stop ride through modern-day Japan.
Bullet Train stars Brad Pitt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Michael Shannon, Sandra Bullock, Logan Lerman, Zazie Beetz, Brian Tyree Henry, Hiroyuki Sanada, Masi Oka, Andrew Koji, and Joey King. Look for it to hit theaters on July 15, 2022.
