Things look grim for Brad Pitt’s tank crew in first Fury trailer
As predicted when yesterday’s poster popped up, here’s the first official trailer for the David Ayer-directed, Brad Pitt-starring WWII movie Fury. Every so often an exceptional film with war as the backdrop hits theaters, and Fury looks to be this year’s outstanding entry. The ensemble cast paired with the atmosphere of WWII all under the watchful eye of a director who’s very at home getting down and dirty in action territory – sign me up!
Watch the somber first trailer for Fury after the jump.
Given Ayers track record, it’d be unwise to think all of those familiar faces are going to make it through to the end of the film, but a good onscreen death is almost as rewarding as a moving monologue or some backseat heroism. That said, I imagine Fury could make a great double viewing with Saving Private Ryan, but we’ll have to wait until the movie is released before we can be sure.
Here’s the plot synopsis for Fury for you to chew on:
April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, and with a rookie soldier thrust into their platoon, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.
The movies stars Brad Pitt, Logan Lerman, Shia LeBeouf, Michael Peña, Jon Bernthal, Jason Isaacs, Brad William Henke, Xavier Samuel, and Scott Eastwood . Fury rolls into theaters on November 14, 2014.
