Big Game trailer sees Samuel L. Jackson lost in the wilderness
The Finnish creative crew behind the fun holiday horror film Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale is mixing up the movie magic again with their latest Big Game. The trailer just popped up online, and it sees Samuel L. Jackson as the U.S. president getting stranded and hunted in the Finnish wilderness when Air Force One goes down. A young boy is his only hope for survival, Onni Tammila (Rare Exports), and the movie looks like one hell of a wild ride. It’s an odd combination of Finnish and American English, filled with actors from both nations, and it’s an intriguing upcoming adventure to say the least.
Watch the first trailer and check out the poster for Big Game after the jump.
Talk about crazy! The concept seems like an exciting one, and it’s an ambitious follow-up to Rare Exports from director Jalmari Helander. Plus, it’s got some surprisingly strong American actors filling out the cast. The trailer came out of nowhere, and it’s made a nice splash.
Here’s a plot synopsis for Big Game pulled from the film’s IMDb page:
A young teenager camping in the woods helps rescue the President of the United States when Air Force One is shot down near his campsite.
And here’s a single sentence synopsis that accompanied the trailer on YouTube:
The fate of the most powerful man on the planet lies in the hands of one boy.
Big Game stars Onni Tommila, Samuel L. Jackson, Jim Broadbent, Ray Stevenson, Ted Levine, Felicity Huffman, Jaymes Butler, and a whole bunch of Finnish actors I’ve unfortunately never heard of. The film made fans at this year’s TIFF, where it picked up a distributor for U.S. release, and we can expect to see it in theaters later this year.
