Ambition teaser sees Littlefinger dabbling in nanotechnology
The ambiguous first teaser trailer for Ambition is a mixed bag, and the under-the-radar way in which it debuted earlier this month is almost as intriguing as the low-key teaser itself. The film stars Aiden Gillen (Game of Thrones) as an “enigmatic master” as he and his apprentice do…something with nanotechnology. The plot and almost everything about the film is pretty vague at this point, but it’s making a splash that’s starting to see ripples of coverage pop up here and there. I’m curious, to say the least.

I’ve said this before, but it’s pretty easy to capture someone’s curiosities, play on their emotions, and throw people for a loop with the short time most trailers take to preview a movie. That said, Ambition aims high, and with so little shown I’m not sure how to feel just yet. Other than the trailer and a few social media campaigns (Instagram, Twitter), the film is almost invisible. Here’s hoping a full-length trailer will surface sometime soon to give us a bigger picture!
I pretty much spelled out above what the plot synopsis for Ambition reveals at this point, but here it is just in case you want something official to sink your teeth into:
Tomek Bagiński’s latest project – tells of a young apprentice (Aisling Franciosi) struggling to master nanotechnology on an alien world and prove herself to her enigmatic master (Aidan Gillen).
I’d never heard of the director before, and it looks like he’s only produced shorts so far in his career, but the geeky gods over at Gizmodo shared his Oscar-nominated animated short film from way back in 2002 titled The Cathedral (below). It’s well made and shows a lot of potential, so maybe over a decade of honing his skill will make Ambition another step in the right direction for Baginski.
