Simon Pegg is a puzzled assassin in Kill Me Three Times trailer
A striking still of Simon Pegg dressed in black and wielding a sniper rifle backdropped by sand dunes surfaced from Kill Me Three Times over a year ago, and now a trailer for the film has finally arrived. It’s a quirky mix of voice-over reflection and Australian-infused action comedy centering around a husband who wants his wife dead and the handful of killers twisted into the convoluted murder caper. There’s a lot to process in the first trailer, but the movie could be fun. If anything, it’s great to see Pegg sporting a handlebar mustache and stepping into the shoes of an assassin.
Watch the first trailer for Kill Me Three Times after the jump. Surprisingly, it’s not labeled as red band, but the trailer is probably not safe for work given some strong language and a tease of nudity.
The movie looks like a mix of the Chevy Chase flick Fletch and a bit of the Joe Carnahan assassins’ ball shoot-em-up Smokin’ Aces (not to be confused with the film’s sequel – Smokin’ Aces: Assassins’ Ball), with maybe a flurry of Guy Ritchie character weaving as a foundation. A little more serious a setting than we’d expect to find Pegg in, if anything.
Until we get another trailer or a few clips, here’s a short plot synopsis to fill us in on some backstory for Kill Me Three Times:
A mercurial assassin (Simon Pegg) discovers he isn’t the only person trying to kill the siren (Alice Braga) of a sun-drenched surfing town. In this darkly comedic thriller, the hitman finds himself unravelling three tales of mayhem, murder, blackmail and revenge.
The movie stars Simon Pegg, Alice Braga, Callan Mulvey, Luke Hemsworth, Bryan Brown, Teresa Palmer, and Sullivan Stapleton. It makes its way to iTunes on March 26, 2015 and then theaters on April 10, 2015.
