Grand Theft Auto 5 gameplay trailer is worth the watch
Rockstar Games continues to impress with the latest trailer showcasing their upcoming Grand Theft Auto 5. The game looks to take elements of previous installments and amp them up considerably. Multiple main characters, buying and trading stocks, an enormous world map, and a yet-to-be-unveiled immersive multiplayer experience. GTA V looks very promising, to say the least.
Check out the worth-watching gameplay trailer after the jump.
“A sprawling, satirical re-imagining of modern Southern California” is sure to be a blast to explore, from the depths of the ocean to the peaks of mountains, and traversing the terrain is always half the fun of any Rockstar game. Grand Theft Auto 5 ups the recreational randomness with scuba diving, tennis, hunting, bike riding, sky diving, and…yoga? That’s a new one for sure. Although, GTA: San Andreas had your character lifting weights and munching down on food to stay in decent shape.
It’ll be interesting to see how missions where three main characters control different vantage points play out. The notion isn’t a new one (see Resident Evil Zero), but it’s a fresh path for GTA to meander down and could prove enjoyable. The voyeurism aspect of it implies the game’s different protagonists will be doing their own thing while you’re busy playing, and if that’s the case jumping into an adventure mid-madness might be kind of crazy.
An added layer of tact, and being able to complete missions in either smash-and-grab style or following a carefully planned out method, is another feature worth looking forward too. Letting a variety of play styles work without limiting the player’s options is essential to making “the ultimate game”, as my roommate puts it, and Rockstar is on the right track.
Grand Theft Auto 5 will be available for both Xbox and PS3 on September 17th, 2013.
